The project covers 103 acres, of which 84.24 acres land for construction, the total construction area is about 105,638 square meters. With a total investment of 498 million yuan, the project would be completed in three phases, of which consists Beijing urban ecosystem research station, environmental simulation and environmental technology R&D incubation and transformation platform, environmental assessment and ecological planning center, research complex, environment and health research center, greenhouse and space and other support services. Now, the first phase planned construction area is 17,440 square meters, of which 9 floors on the ground is 15696 square meters and floors under ground is 1744 square meters. 

　　The expected goals are to build two “No.1” and provide two “platforms”. The two “No.1” means the first urban ecosystem long-term observation and research base of China, and the first international high-level ecological environment multi-media simulation base. Two “platforms” means an international large-scale ecological research platform and a high-tech ecological research incubation demonstration platform.
